Production Controller I 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintains schedules for material requirements and availability for the manufacture of industrial and commercial products to support production control by optimizing inventory storage systems.
  • Optimize inventory storage systems.
  • Interface with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Production Control, and other related departments to resolve problems relative to receipt and distribution of material.
  • Make decisions on part categorization, default bin size, and location
  • Research kit shortages, expedite missing kits, and be meticulous in kit integration.
  • Understand, research, and reconcile traceability.
  • Ensure inventory processes comply with quality standards and procedures.
  • Participate in 5S and other continuous improvement practices.
  • Manage projects using relevant software tools and track to meet completion dates.
  • Support the organization’s metric goals and objectives.
  • Analyze the flow of material to reduce the time of request to delivery.
  • Packing and shipping outgoing orders via UPS, FedEx, and various freight carriers.
  • Receive and transact all incoming material in the MRP system.
  • Conduct cycle counts to validate quantity, revision levels, stock location, and transfers.
  • Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
  • Assists in determining possible and actual shortages and may initiate action to correct these deficiencies.
  • Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Experience with inventory operations within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (Deltek Costpoint) system and Microsoft applications.
  • Capable of using forklift and other inventory-related equipment
  • Minimum of 1-year materials and production control experience
  • May require off Friday and weekend support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Prefer experience with Kiting
  • Liaising between manufacturing and Inventorying
  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability

 

6-month contract position

Hours: Night shift position from 1.30 PM – 11:00 PM

Job Description:
This is a craftsmanship role and candidates must be conscientious and take pride in their work while demonstrating a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

  • Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct online adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent (education will be verified)
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to include the ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
  • Familiar with hand tools and good math/geometry skills
  • Candidate must be able to read and follow written manufacturing instructions and technical procedures
  • Operate equipment such as hand tools and power machinery for processing metals, composites, and wood
  • Must work closely with lead technicians and supervisor to meet build requirements and schedules within allotted budgets
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Demonstrates a high level of concern for the safety of self and others
  • Willing to work flexible schedules as needed to meet delivery dates

Preferred Skills:

  • Computer skills including MS Word and Excel are a plus
  • Previous fabrication experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Experience preparing/mixing epoxy and silicone adhesives for mechanical and thermal component installation
  • Experience handling hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA and industry standards
  • Candidate will provide technician support for the manufacturing of integrated products in our loop heat pipe area
  • Candidates will need to be mechanically skilled
  • 2 years experience in aerospace

  • Will be responsible for processing parts through chemical etch line prior to surface finish.

Experience:
