To assist ChamberRVA with their YRichmond initiative, we sent our internal employees as volunteers to university jobs fairs!

The goal of YRichmond is to encourage young professionals to live, work and play in Richmond. Our internal employees are perfect candidates for this since we all enjoy Richmond.

On the first career fair day, we sent Tianna and Shaila to the University of Richmond to present. The next volunteering event we sent David, Victor and Torin to ODU. The groups both had a great time meeting new faces and speaking about the joys of Richmond!

Contractor Spotlight: Raymond Wiley

Hi everyone, my name is Raymond Wiley but you can call me ‘Ray’.

I recently had a birthday, team libra all day. I am a certified clinical pharmacy technician and have been one since 2008. I currently work for Astyra as a contracted clinical pharmacy tech at Magellan. I graduated with an associate degree in Health Science from Stratford University located in Glen Allen, Va. When I am not hard at work, I enjoy quality time with family and friends. I always enjoy checking out new restaurants with good vibes, energy and food. I also love to travel when I can, “no place is too far for me.” I have enjoyed working in my role as a pharmacy technician and am very much excited for what adventures God has planned for me in the future.

As always God bless, stay humble and keep the faith.

Maintaining The Talent Pool

Today’s recruiting tip is one that’s been around for ages! Still, it never hurts to revisit the basics.

When it comes to fulfilling different roles for our customers, it’s always easier when we know who’d be a good fit and would also be interested. TalentLyft refers to this methodology as maintaining a ‘talent pool.’ In this instance, the talent pool simply refers to “a place or database where recruiters and HR managers keep all of their top job candidates.”

The idea is definitely simple but also extremely effective. No matter how you’re introduced to the candidates, be they direct applicants, or outwardly sourced, having a directory with people in mind makes it much faster and far easier to match candidates with jobs that interest them and benefit the end client.

Do you agree? What are your thoughts?
