The Black Entrepreneurs Hall of Fame (BEHOF) will hold its inaugural induction ceremony in May. The event will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the Tulsa riots. The induction class will include entrepreneurial giants such as Cathy Hughes of Radio One and the late Reginald Lewis of Beatrice Foods. Astyra’s own Ken Ampy serves on the Board of the Hall of Fame.
Leading up to the celebration, the BEHOF in conjunction with the Black Excellence Alliance, has been holding monthly seminars entitled “Black Wall Street: The Past, Present and Future of Black Excellence”, featuring some of today’s leading black entrepreneurs. For the March seminar, Ken was able to secure Warren Thompson as the keynote speaker. Mr. Thompson is the CEO of Thompson Hospitality, one of the largest Retail Food and Facilities Management companies in the country.
