In partnership with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, RideFinders, a division of GRTC Transit System, hosted a Telework Richmond event on September 22, 2010 at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The Telework Richmond Event was a half-day seminar discussing the benefits of starting or expanding a telework program and provided information about grant funding that exists for qualifying companies.

Ken Ampy was a featured panelist during the Getting the Green: Practical Telework Strategies. He talked with attendees about best practices for other companies looking to start or expand a telework program, how Astyra implemented its telework program and how the program benefited the company.

Astyra received a Telework!VA Champion award at the event. The award recognizes the significant impact that Telework!VA participants have made in helping to reduce vehicle emissions and improving air quality in the region.

The strategy for Astyra to participate in the Telework!VA program was conceived by Sam Young, Astyra’s President (seen below accepting the award).
