Are you ready to put your experience to work? If so, our Aeronautics Systems sector is currently seeking Composite Laminator 1 based in El Segundo, CA. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail, top focus on quality, and excellent people skills
Job Functions:
- Fabricate composite parts, which may include bonding prep, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, trimming, and part handling
- Handle perishable materials, paying close attention to expiration dates, out time life, and traceability information
- Follows all planning, visual aids, and process work instructions.
- These instructions, in combination with part-specific tooling, are used to fabricate composite parts and bonded assemblies.
- Operate handheld tools. (e.g.) Scissors, razor knives, grinders, drills, sanders, cutting wheels, etc.
- Excels in a team environment, supports other departments, or completes other duties as necessary
- Work in both FOE-critical and FOE-sensitive environments and observe all related safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Basic Qualification:
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of composite manufacturing/fabrication experience or approved composites certificate program.
- Basic computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Must be able to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitious work including bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible/changing schedules including weekends.
- Ability to work in El Segundo, CA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Composite fabrication experience in an aerospace, military, manufacturing, and/or maintenance environment
- Demonstrated mechanical ability and ability to work under limited supervision
- Be able to operate autoclave and curing ovens
