Senior System Administrator
*Local to Durham, NC only please
*This is a hybrid position with onsite work expected every other week

Description:
- The client is looking for a Senior System Administrator to work in Durham NC.
- The resource will be responsible as the technical Linux/Windows Admin and maintain UCS servers in a VMware environment.
- The client seeks a contract resource to assist with the support of the clients’ Application Development Environment for NC Families Accessing Services through Technology.
- The resource will act as the technical Linux/Windows Admin and maintain UCS servers in a VMware environment and requires the ability to work on a fast spaced environment and support and resolve incident tickets.
Responsibilities:
- Install maintain and upgrade internal computer software systems used for designing and developing company products.
- Control user access and passwords
- Propose and implement systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
- Monitor usage and performance
- Train personnel on system usage
- Maintain the VMware-based environments Monitor the virtual server infrastructure environments health status.
- Be willing to travel at any time to troubleshoot any hardware issues in our data centers in Raleigh and Charlotte area.
- Research evaluate and recommend software and hardware products.
- Provide new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth.
- Work as a team member in a fast-paced environment 24/7 7 days a week.
- On-call support every other week and occasional weekend/holiday work required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- 8 years experience as a System Administrator
- Experience in Managing VMware VCenter 6.7 or later.
- Experience in managing Nagios.
- Hands-on support of the UNIX /Windows environment including OS administration and systems support.
- Experience interacting with Security Audit DBA Networking Microsoft and development groups.
- Experience with customer support in a time-critical environment
- Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Manage and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux on x86.
- Manage and maintain Windows servers.
- Manage and maintain SQL servers.
- Manage and maintain Storage such as Pure storage and VSAN.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux on x86 platforms.
- Strong shell scripting abilities
- Ability to implement Processes and Procedures creating controls and standardization across large regions.
- Business aware and focused on service delivery.
- Standard office automation products Word Excel PowerPoint Visio
Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Linux/Windows server Certifications a plus
- VMware Vcenter experience
- Managing UCS blade servers
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience as a System Administrator, Required 8 Years
- Experience in Managing VMware VCenter 8.0 or later, Required 7 Years
- Experience of customer support in a time-critical environment, Required 7 Years
- Experience in managing Nagios., Required 7 Years
- Experience providing hands-on support of UNIX and Windows Server/Desktop environments including OS administration and systems support, Required 7 Years
- Experience interfacing strongly with Security, Audit, DBA, Networking, Microsoft, and development groups., Required 7 Years
- Demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux on x86 platforms., Required 6 Years
- Standard office automation products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Required 4 Years
- Ability to implement Processes and Procedures creating controls and standardization across large regions., Required 4 Years
- Experience managing and maintaining Storage such as Pure storage, VSAN and backups, Required 4 Years
- Experience managing and maintaining SQL servers., Required 4 Years
- Experience managing and maintaining Windows servers., Required 4 Years
- Strong shell scripting abilities, Required 4 Years
- Experience managing UCS blade servers, Desired 4 Years
- Linux/Windows server Certifications, Desired
