Description:

  • The client is looking for a talented, experienced, and innovative Project Engineer to be a part of the Power Development engineering team that will be driving innovation and technological advancements to enhance the reliability, affordability, and sustainability of our new power generation projects.
  • This position collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and maintain the company’s standards in engineering design for new generation plants (gas and renewables), energy storage projects, and other zero or low carbon technologies.
  • Ensures that engineering products are complete, accurate and constructible for all elements of a project’s scope.
  • Exhibits and promotes a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, implementation of best practices, and application of lessons learned.
  • This position is responsible for coordinating efforts of cross-functional teams and building effective relationships with key internal/external stakeholders, including contractors.
  • The Project Engineer is required to work directly with multiple Project Managers and Project Controls staff as a technical resource during the development phase.

Education:  

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Advanced degree preferred. Minimum experience required of the position.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Project Engineer, Sr Lead: 10+ years of applicable and progressive professional experience, preferably engineering design, construction or operation of power systems.
  • (8 years with a PE/PMP Certification/Masters Degree) Project Engineer Sr Staff
  • 12+ years of applicable and progressive professional experience, preferably engineering design, construction or operation of power systems
  • (10 years with a PE/PMP Certification/Masters Degree) Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills with strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Strong interpersonal skills and leadership behaviors.
  • Expert knowledge of engineering fundamentals within at least one discipline (civil/mechanical/electrical/controls/chemical/construction)
  • Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to power generation.
  • This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design of electrical power generating facilities.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of power generation facilities and associated QA/QC protocol.
  • Knowledge of permits required for construction and operation of power generation facilities.
  • Proficiency with reviewing, executing, and managing large EPC contracts.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills and capability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Adept in complex problem solving; able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Experience with combustion turbine power generation

Certifications:

  • Desired: Professional Engineer license and PMP certification.
