Microelectronic Technician I

This is a 6-month contract position.
On-site – Local candidates in Manhattan Beach, CA only.

Work Shift: 1st Shift (3/10) – Weekend Shift (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday)

Job Description
Our client is seeking a Semiconductor Equipment Support Technician to support operations within a semiconductor fabrication environment. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of semiconductor processing equipment in a dynamic production and R&D setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on front-end and back-end semiconductor equipment (e.g., steppers, evaporators, sputters, implanters, etchers, coaters/developers, and dicing saws)
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and basic software/control issues
  • Partner with engineers and tool owners to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
  • Document maintenance activities, downtime, and parts usage
  • Support equipment installation, upgrades, and decommissioning
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables
  • Follow cleanroom protocols and safety standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase tool uptime

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of equipment maintenance or technical trade experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with vacuum systems, gas systems, and cleanroom environments
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electronics, or related field
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment (wet and dry processes)
  • Exposure to R&D or prototyping environments
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to gases, chemicals, and high-voltage equipment
