Maintenance Technician II

Description:
- Seeking a versatile Maintenance Technician with strong painting and surface finishing expertise to join our facilities team.
- This role supports a broad range of maintenance trades, with a primary focus on delivering high-quality interior and exterior painting services for plant and office environments, as well as machinery and equipment.
- The ideal candidate combines artistic precision with hands-on maintenance experience, ensuring all painted surfaces are both aesthetically pleasing and protected against wear.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all phases of painting projects, including surface cleaning, sanding, priming, masking, and applying base coats, finish coats, and specialty coatings
- Match colors, textures, and finishes to specifications using spray guns, rollers, brushes, and automated paint systems
- Select and apply appropriate paints, primers, sealants, and protective coatings for metal, wood, concrete, and composite materials
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks and basic carpentry to keep facilities operational
- Assist other tradespeople with preparation, minor repairs, and cleanup to ensure efficient workflow
- Order and maintain stock of materials needed to complete jobs in a timely and professional manner
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Strong expertise in painting and surface finishing techniques
- Knowledge of surface preparation methods and coating applications
- Ability to accurately match colors, textures, and finishes
- Experience using a variety of painting tools and equipment
- General maintenance knowledge, including basic carpentry and facility upkeep
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Familiarity and experience with roadway and safety paint applications
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience
- At least 1 year of focused experience in painting and surface finishing
- Proven ability to perform all phases of painting projects, including preparation, priming, masking, and coating application
- Familiarity with paint application tools such as spray guns, rollers, and brushes
- Ability to work at heights using ladders or aerial lifts
- Experience installing and repairing drywall, hardscape, and concrete
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
