Mainframe Programmer Analyst

Description:
- Our client seeks to procure one contractor to fill a Mainframe Programmer Architect role.
- The primary responsibility is to cleanse data in the current legacy Benefit Payments System and convert the data to Oracle.
Responsibilities:
- The Mainframe Architect is expected to handle design implementation and maintenance of mainframe computer systems for the client.
- The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in maintaining the FARS systems and work on the FARS Modernization project including data cleansing and conversion.
- The contractor will work with other technical teams to ensure that the mainframe system is properly integrated with other systems and technologies.
- They are expected to help resolve technical issues that arise with the mainframe system.
- This may include working with other technical teams to diagnose and resolve problems as well as developing and implementing preventative measures to minimize the risk of future issues.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Technical knowledge and experience with COBOL, Required 10 Years
- Technical knowledge and experience with CICS, Required 10 Years
- Technical knowledge and experience with VSAM files and relational databases, Required 10 Years
- Technical knowledge and experience with JCL, Required 10 Years
- Knowledge and experience in transferring data sets from mainframe applications to Oracle / SQL based programs, Required 10 Years
- Successful completion of technology projects within area of responsibility, analyzing feasibility, compatability and cost of solutions, Required
- Ability to engage business and technical experts in the cleansing and conversion of legacy data to Oracle, Highly desired 5 Years
- Ability to perform mainframe logic and decommissioning, Required 5 Years
- Strong organizational skills, Required
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, Required
- Ability to engage business experts in the purpose and use of data in the Benefit Payment Application, Desired
- Knowledge of FARS application, Nice to have
