Electronic Technician 2
*Local to Buffalo, NY, only please – Onsite position
*2nd Shift position: Monday – Friday 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM

Description

  • Support the Manufacturing Test department within Operations
  • Test products used in Electronic Warfare simulation systems
  • Perform assembly duties as required to support workflow
  • Work under close supervision on the development and testing of electronic and electro-mechanical systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine technical functions supporting development engineering activities, including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly
  • Work with analog, digital, and/or video circuits and logic systems
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and environmental testing
    • Perform routine operational tests and fault isolation to ensure conformance with design specifications

  • Diagnose and isolate malfunctions down to the component level
  • Conduct engineering tests and collect data as assigned
  • Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, VOMs, DVMs, and signal generators
  • Follow schematics, diagrams, layouts, and written or verbal instructions
  • Support development, engineering, and test equipment design activities

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Ability to perform routine testing and troubleshooting of electronic systems
  • Understanding of analog, digital, and video circuits
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and layouts
  • Familiarity with diagnostic and development test equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work under supervision and follow defined processes

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Hands-on experience with drawings, wire lists, source control drawings, and test procedures
  • Experience with microelectronics and tuning under a microscope
  • Experience working with engineering teams
  • Experience with soldering and electronic assembly processes
  • Working knowledge of defense electronics, especially Electronic Warfare systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a performance-based and metrics-driven environment

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • 4 years of relevant experience; OR an associate’s degree in an electronics field plus
  • 2 years of related experience; OR 2 years of U.S. military electronic schooling plus 2 years of related experience
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting RF and digital equipment
  • Experience using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers
  • Manual dexterity with the ability to handle and assemble small parts

Education/Certification

  • Associate’s degree in an electronic field OR equivalent combination of education and experience as defined above
