Certified Pharmacy Technician
*This is a 1-year contract position
*Remote – Local to Virginia only, please
*Hours: Monday- Friday, between 9:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. ET; overtime may be required.
Description
We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations in a remote call center environment. This role handles inbound calls, processes prior authorization requests using established clinical criteria, documents outcomes, communicates coverage information, and escalates requests requiring pharmacist review.
Responsibilities
- Handle inbound pharmacy-related calls.
- Process and document prior authorization requests.
- Research and resolve member, provider, and pharmacy inquiries.
- Communicate coverage information and decisions.
- Escalate requests requiring pharmacist review.
- Support phone and fax work queues.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0–2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
- Strong communication, computer, and customer service skills.
- Pharmacy technician licensure/registration and national certification (PTCB or ExCPT) as required by applicable state requirements.
- Call center or retail pharmacy experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently from home.
