Description:
- Our client is seeking a skilled Applications Systems Python Developer to design, develop, and support data pipelines, dashboards, integrations, and migration processes across enterprise systems.
- This role plays a key part in moving data between legacy and modern platforms ensuring data quality and enabling analytics and automation through Python and PowerBI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data migration scripts, ETL pipelines, and automation workflows using Python
- Design, build, and optimize data models for reporting and analytics
- Create interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI
- Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading between databases, APIs, and enterprise systems
- Optimize data processes for speed, reliability, and scalability
- Work with SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to support migration and reporting
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including cloud apps, on premises systems, and flat files
- Collaborate with business teams to define reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Analyze data quality issues, reconcile datasets, and implement best practices for data integrity
- Implement automation for recurring data tasks and reporting workflows
- Maintain documentation for data processes, source mappings, and migration steps
- Participate in architecture, design, and planning sessions for data modernization projects
Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Required 7 Years
- Proficiency with Power BI, Required 5 Years
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Ingres), Required 7 Years
- Senior level experience writing optimized SQL queries and analyzing existing SQL queries for performance improvements, Required 7 Years
- Solid understanding of SOAP/REST APIs, backend architecture, and microservices, Required 5 Years
- Experience designing and executing data migration or data conversion projects, Required 7 Years
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements, Required 7 Years
- Familiarity with legacy system migration projects, Highly desired 5 Years
- Experience with large-scale migration or modernization initiatives, Highly desired 5 Years
- Experience with Java development, Highly desired 5 Years
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Desired 3 Years
- Knowledge of Power BI administration, workspaces, gateways, and deployment strategies, Desired 3 Years
- Experience with version control (Git/Subversion) and CI/CD pipelines, Desired 3 Years
- Experience with Perl for scripting, system utilities, or legacy app maintenance, Nice to have 3 Years
