Epic Orders Analyst
Description
This position ensures that order management workflows—including provider order entry, nursing orders, order sets, and integrated ancillary services—are implemented, maintained, and optimized to support safe, efficient, and compliant patient care across multiple healthcare facilities.
The analyst collaborates with clinical providers, nursing staff, pharmacists, and ancillary departments such as laboratory, radiology, dietary, and therapy services to design, validate, and support orders functionality within the electronic health record system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide application build and configuration for Epic Orders workflows, including CPOE, order sets, protocols, preference lists, and clinical decision support.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and ancillary staff to gather requirements and translate them into system functionality.
- Participate in system testing, integrated validation, and change management processes.
- Troubleshoot issues escalated through the service management system, providing timely resolution or escalation as appropriate.
- Support compliance with applicable state, federal, and healthcare regulatory standards for orders management.
- Work collaboratively with analysts supporting other clinical and technical modules, including Clinical Documentation, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Health Information Management, and Security, to ensure workflow integration and system interoperability.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for order-related support issues.
