MES Certification & Compliance Analyst

Description:
This position plays a key role in supporting federal Medicaid compliance and MES certification activities, including MITA alignment, Alternatives Analysis (AoA), Process Business Area (PBA) assessments, Certification Readiness Reviews (CRR), Detailed Assessment Plans (DAP), and other CMS certification requirements.
Seeking a Certification & Compliance Project Specialist to support enterprise system certification and compliance initiatives across multiple high-visibility projects. This role is responsible for coordinating certification activities, supporting federal compliance requirements, maintaining certification documentation, managing evidence collection, and ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory standards. The Specialist will work closely with business leaders, project teams, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure certification readiness, compliance, and successful project outcomes while supporting critical funding and regulatory objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Support project teams in executing certification and compliance activities.
- Assist with leading certification workstream meetings and stakeholder coordination.
- Maintain and update certification documentation repositories and compliance artifacts.
- Co-manage certification evidence tracking and reporting activities.
- Pull, organize, recommend, and manage evidence to support certification requirements.
- Develop narratives and supporting documentation for certification reviews and assessments.
- Coordinate and oversee system demonstrations for business stakeholders and regulatory reviewers.
- Monitor certification policies, standards, and program updates and communicate impacts to project teams.
- Provide certification-related activities for integration into project schedules.
- Support preparation efforts for certification reviews, readiness assessments, and compliance audits.
- Coordinate activities with vendors, external partners, and internal project teams.
- Ensure continuity, quality, and timeliness of certification deliverables.
- Apply industry best practices to support compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Identify and mitigate certification and compliance risks throughout project lifecycles.
- Support ongoing compliance initiatives and regulatory reporting requirements.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Project management experience, including managing staff in matrixed or direct reporting environments — 5+ years.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities, including scope, schedules, quality, change management, and project financials — 5+ years.
- Experience implementing information systems in a client-facing role — 5+ years.
- Exceptional technical writing experience, including authoring playbooks, manuals, narratives, and compliance documentation — 5+ years.
- Experience using project tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms — 5+ years.
- Healthcare industry experience, preferably related to analytics, reporting, compliance, or healthcare systems — 3+ years.
- Experience coordinating with regulatory and external oversight organizations — 2+ years.
- Experience supporting certification lifecycle processes and compliance initiatives — 2+ years.
- Experience preparing for readiness reviews, compliance assessments, audits, or certification reviews — 2+ years.
- Experience collecting, organizing, and managing evidence to support certification requirements — 2+ years.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting compliance, certification, governance, or regulatory initiatives.
- Ability to coordinate activities across business, technical, vendor, and external stakeholder teams.
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field.
- PMP, CAPM, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Healthcare Project Management, Compliance, or related certifications are preferred.
- Regulatory compliance, healthcare, or project management certifications are a plus.
