Machinist 2

Description:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with experience operating both manual and CNC machinery to manufacture precision metal components to exact tolerances. This role requires expertise in machine setup, blueprint interpretation, advanced shop math, precision measurement, and quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders
- Manufacture precision metal parts, tools, and mechanical components to exact tolerances
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications
- Determine machining sequences, setup methods, tooling requirements, feeds, and speeds
- Perform machine setups, adjustments, and non-routine fabrication processes
- Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Measure, mark, and layout stock materials for machining operations
- Assemble and fit precision components into mechanical equipment
- Monitor product quality and verify specifications using inspection and statistical process control methods
- Operate CNC machinery and support machine programming activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and machining knowledge
- Experience with precision measurements and maintaining tight tolerances
- Ability to follow written work instructions and technical documentation
- Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining calculations
- Familiarity with CNC machining processes and machine programming software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/push/pull 35–50 lbs. throughout the workday
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- 4+ years of experience operating 3-Axis CNC machines
- Experience with 4-Axis and 5-Axis CNC machining
- Experience with Fanuc and HAAS controllers
- Proficiency in CAM programming using Mastercam
- Previous experience in complex precision manufacturing environments
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- 3+ years of machining experience
- Experience operating manual machines and performing machine setups
- Ability to read and interpret production specifications, assembly drawings, and technical documents in English
- Experience in fabricating component parts with difficult tolerances and non-routine setups
- Experience performing advanced shop math calculations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds
- Familiarity with CNC Mills and programming software such as Mastercam or CAM Works
- Ability to use power hand tools and precision measuring equipment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Education/Certification:
- Formal apprenticeship, vocational training, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on machining
