Description:

  • The North Carolina Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH) and the client are seeking an Accessibility Analyst.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accessibility testing on websites web applications and digital documents PDF Word Excel PowerPoint.
  • Evaluate compliance with ADA Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA standards.
  • Use manual and automated testing tools including assistive technologies e.g. JAWS ZoomText NVDA.
  • Document findings and provide clear actionable remediation guidance.
  • Collaborate with developers QA teams and business stakeholders to resolve accessibility issues.
  • Assist with code-level remediation of accessibility defects when applicable.
  • Remediate and convert digital documents into accessible formats.
  • Promote accessibility best practices and support integration of accessibility into the software development lifecycle.
  • Maintain documentation and compliance reports.
  • Stay current with evolving accessibility laws standards and technologies.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Web Development or a related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Professional certification such as CPACC Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies or WAS Web Accessibility Specialist.
  • Experience in public sector or regulated environments.
  • Experience remediating PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as Axe WAVE Lighthouse or Accessibility Insights.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Strong understanding of digital accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and identify compliance gaps.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inclusive design.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508 standards, Required 3 Years
  • Demonstrated experience in digital accessibility testing and remediation., Required 3 Years
  • Experience testing with assistive technologies such as JAWS, ZoomText, or NVDA, Required 3 Years
  • HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript sufficient to support accessibility remediation efforts., Required 3 Years
  • ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA standards, Required 3 Years
  • Accessibility testing on websites, web applications, and digital documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Required 3 Years
  • Use manual and automated testing tools, including assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, ZoomText, NVDA)., Required 3 Years
  • Code-level remediation of accessibility defects when applicable, Required 3 Years
  • Remediate and convert digital documents into accessible formats, Required 3 Years
