Paint Night With Magellan Health

Jamaal Anderson, Brittany Brown, Cornel Hubbard and Theo Fletcher
Astyra’s Human Resources Manager, Brittany Brown hosted a paint night with employees from our client, Magellan Health, this month.

This activity helped to boost team morale and allow the group to bond in a more intimate way than conversing at work. Plus, they all were able to go home with a beautiful painting of a peacock that they created!

After great conversations and lots of fun, they are all looking forward to attending another paint night.

Walking For Charity

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), is a large mental health organization aimed at improving lives for Americans affected by mental illness.

Annual events are held nationwide, to raise funds in support of the mission-driven work of NAMI organizations.

Our employees working at Magellan of Virginia came up with a great fundraising idea for the upcoming event. They provided a snack store at their office and raised enough money to come in 2nd place for the most money raised out of 5 departments!

We are very proud of their efforts!! The Virginia walk will be on October 15, 2016.

The Team at Awards Dinner

Astyra Corporation and Magellan of Virginia were awarded the Metropolitan Business League’s Trailblazing Partnership Award for their work together. The Trailblazing Partnership Award recognizes a small business and its larger partner that formed a successful teaming relationship and/or joint venture that resulted in the award of a new contract or an ongoing relationship. Astyra is responsible for staffing the customer service positions for Magellan’s member call center.

“In both the substance and logistics of our work, we recognize that real, lasting success comes from collaboration, especially with a locally-based organization that shares our mission-driven focus. We found that collaboration in the team at Astyra” said Bill Phipps, general manager of Magellan of Virginia.

The continued success of the Astyra/Magellan partnership has resulted in the pursuit of several other opportunities within and outside of the Commonwealth.

2015 was a very important year for Astyra in the healthcare sector.

DMAS exercised their renewal options for the Behavioral Health Services Administrator Contract with Magellan Health. This means that Astyra’s role as the provider for Customer Service Associates for the Magellan of Virginia Behavioral Health Program will be extended through 2018.

Astyra continued to develop our relationship with KEPRO, a leading healthcare management company headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, assisting on direct hire placements in Florida and Ohio.
Owners, Ken Ampy and Sam Young spent some time traveling to different states in an effort to learn more about how Astyra can help with the staffing needs of this important industry.

They attended the NAHSE Conference in New Orleans in October, and traveled to Detroit and Nashville, where they visited local hospitals to see the behind-the-scenes of the hospital system.
