Astyra is looking for someone who has experience evaluating and authorizing approval of prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers received by telephone and/or facsimile using client clinical criteria. Essential Functions: Determines appropriateness for medications. Communicates decision to physicians, physician’s office staff, medical management staff and/or pharmacists. Researches, resolves and documents prior authorization outcomes in pharmacy system. It is a large mainframe print shop that does high speed printing and has an impact print capability. An average of 4 million pages are printed each month. This position requires a detailed knowledge of all aspects of operating mainframe computer printers and print systems. Employees in this position monitor and control the operation of a computer system using documented instructions and routines. Work involves preparing the system for operation and performing operations activities according to schedules and program instructions. Employees are able to select, print, and monitor all scheduled print jobs, and respond to system messages including z/OS, JES2 and InfoPrint Manager messages. The ability to maximize production printing while minimizing system outages through operator intervention is an important aspect of the position.   Responsibilities Be able to ready, start, and monitor the operation of all mainframe printer equipment, including loading various paper and forms on printers, replenishing toner, developer, ribbons and other consumables, aligning forms and overlays, clearing paper jams and other related print activities. Responsible for the use of all pre and post printer equipment for the preparation and distribution of input and output data. Analyze and evaluate post-processing output for accuracy and quality. Review and prepare output reports and products for delivery to customers. Reviews health care services to determine consistency with contract requirements, coverage policies, and evidence-based medical necessity criteria; collects and analyzes utilization information; assists with program processes for transitions across levels of care including discharge planning and ambulatory follow up activity. Serves as an expert resource on coverage policies, covered benefits, and medical necessity criteria. Job Description: Develops and manages new enrollee transitions and those involving a change in provider relationships. Develops and implements transition plans, as indicated, to ensure continuity of care. Negotiates and documents single case agreements according to the company's procedures. Reviews planned, in the process, or completed health care services to ensure medical necessity and effectiveness according to evidence-based criteria. Proposes alternatives when the requested services do not meet medical necessity criteria or are outside the contracted network. As assigned and based on credentials, monitors and reviews specialized requests and treatment records such as Treatment Record Forms. In conjunction with providers and facilities, identifies, develops and monitors discharge plans. Collaborates with the Care Coordination Team to implement support for transitions in care.
